The Indian Pest Control Association (IPCA) proudly marked a significant milestone with the successful organization of its 58-Year Legacy event at the distinguished Hayaat Regency in Kathmandu, Nepal. Spanning two impactful days on the 15th and 16th of August 2025, this convention brought together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders from across the region to celebrate past achievements and pave the way for future innovations in pest management.

Day 1: August 15, 2025 – Inauguration and Insightful Beginnings

The two-day event kicked off promptly at 10:00 AM with open registration, welcoming esteemed delegates and participants. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as members prepared for a day filled with inspiration, learning, and collaboration.

Flag Hosting Ceremony and Event Inauguration

The formal proceedings began at 11:00 AM with a solemn flag hosting ceremony that symbolized unity and commitment among the IPCA community. This was followed by the inauguration of the event exhibition at 3:30 PM, showcasing the latest advancements, technologies, and services in the pest management industry.

Keynote Addresses by IPCA Leadership and Distinguished Guests

At 4:00 PM, Dr. Satish Tyagi, the Honorable President of IPCA, delivered a warm welcome address, emphasizing the association’s enduring dedication to advancing pest control practices over nearly six decades. His address set the tone for the convention, highlighting the importance of innovation and collaboration.

Following this, Mr. Binay P. Singh, the Honorable Secretary of IPCA, presented the opening address at 4:15 PM, reinforcing the commitment to industry growth and member engagement.

The room was further energized by insightful speeches from revered guests including Mr. Raj Gupta, President of the Pest Managers Association of Nepal; Mr. Bhojraj Sapkota, Guest of Honor from PQPMC-Nepal; Mr. Sanjeev Karn, Guest of Honor from DFTQC-Nepal; and Dr. Tanka Prasad Barakoti from the Department of Health Services, Nepal.

The day’s keynote was culminating with a profound address by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ramnath Adhikar, Minister of Agriculture, Nepal, at 5:00 PM. His speech underscored the critical role of pest management in securing agricultural productivity and food safety in the region.

Business Growth and Technological Transition Sessions

Post the keynote sessions, the evening was dedicated to business growth and technology adaptation. From 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM, Sri. Acharya Anupam Jolly delivered a compelling talk on “Synergies of Energies for Business Growth,” providing strategies to leverage collective strengths for expansion.

From 5:30 PM to 6:15 PM, a subject matter expert from Zoho, India’s leading accounting software company, delivered a session on “Transition to Technology,” enlightening attendees on the integration of digital tools in business processes.

Cultural Program and Traditional Ethnic Experience

The day closed with a vibrant cultural program from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, where attendees experienced the rich heritage of Nepal through traditional ethnic wear and performances, fostering camaraderie and cultural appreciation among participants.

Day 2: August 16, 2025 – Technical Excellence and Knowledge Exchange

The second day commenced at 9:15 AM with a series of technical sessions and paper presentations aimed at exploring future trends and innovative solutions in pest management.

Expert-Led Technical Sessions on Pest and Vector Management

At 9:15 AM, Mr. Alex Wade, the Global Technical and Marketing Manager at BASF, led the session on “Future in Rodent Management,” discussing advanced strategies to combat rodent infestations globally.

Following this, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, a session titled “Growing with RIGHT PARTNERS: A Global Story” emphasized the value of strategic partnerships in the pest control industry.

From 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, a technical session on the “Importance of Molecules in Pest Management Industry” was delivered by a speaker from ENVU, highlighting the scientific advances in pest control molecules.

After a refreshing tea break and networking opportunity from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM, attendees reconvened for topics on new frontiers in pest management. Dr. Mrunal Ghag Sawant from EPCORN presented on “Reptile Management,” while Dr. Manivannan Selladurai, Ph.D., from the USA, elaborated on “Beyond Known Gases: New Era in Professional Fumigation.”

Ms. Julie Na, APAC Technical Services Manager at SYNGENTA, captivated the audience with insights into “Global Learning in Mitigating Bedbug and Cockroach Management Challenges.”

Afternoon Sessions: Customer Service, Research, and Annual General Meeting

The afternoon sessions featured discussions on monetizing brand value and customer service by Mr. Deepak Singh of Centrum Wealth Ltd., followed by two engaged paper presentations by invited speakers from the research fraternity focusing on vector management and the application of AI in vector management.
